Swearengin Holds Decisive Edge in Early Polling ABC Poll Shows Swearengin Near 50% (Fresno) – A new poll by ABC/Survey USA shows political new-comer Ashley Swearengin with an early lead over City Councilman Henry T. Perea in the Fresno Mayor’s race. According to the ABC poll, Swearengin is closing in on the 50% mark, with 47% favoring Swearengin and just 43% choosing Perea.
This latest polling news comes on the heels of recent finance reports showing Swearengin with a better than three-to-one lead in campaign cash over her opponent.
“Ashley is running a very strong campaign, and the numbers are definitely looking up,” said Swearengin Campaign Spokesman David Schecter. “Voters are responding to Ashley’s fresh, new style of leadership and her proven abilities to bring people together and solve problems. Ashley is definitely the right fit for Fresno, and these poll numbers reflect her strong connection to the community.”
Ashley Swearengin has made leadership and economic growth the hallmarks of her professional career. She is the co-founder and director of the Fresno Regional Jobs Initiative (RJI), which has been a catalyst for substantial community and economic development in the Fresno Region. She is also the lead executive to Governor Schwarzenegger’s Partnership for the San Joaquin Valley.
Ashley and Paul Swearengin just celebrated their 14th wedding anniversary, and they are raising two school-aged children.
