Fresno, CA (Mar. 14, 2008) – The accomplishments of 100 influential central California women certainly did not go unnoticed last night as Business Street held its inaugural “Influential Women 100” event at The Downtown Club in downtown Fresno.

One of the honorees was Fresno County Sheriff Margaret Mims, who made her second public appearance after being diagnosed with breast cancer. Mims said she was feeling energized and looking forward to being back at work full-time soon.

“When I look at the list,” Mims said, “what I realize is the common thread is leadership in every single woman on that list. I’m honored and proud to be on it.

The "Influential Women 100"

Dixie Jackson of the Chukchansi Tribe said, “It’s a great honor I tell you, of all the women in this Valley, to be a part of this is wonderful. It just doesn’t seem real.”

Fresnan Sid Cox was the guest host for the evening. He asked all of the women to think of someone in their life that influenced them to become a better person, and to give thanks.
