Businesswoman Ashley Swearengin says Fresno needs a trusted leader who will put people before politics.

She's expected to announce her candidacy during a news conference scheduled for Wednesday.

Swearengin will be the fourth candidate to officially enter the race along with former councilmember Tom Boyajian and current members Mike Dages and Jerry Duncan.

Councilman Henry T. Perea also plans to announce on-line Wednesday that he's entering the mayor's race.
